Bored Ape creator Yuga Labs has announced a new NFT-powered game dubbed Dookey Dash. The game will utilize a digital collectible known as Sewer Pass with Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) NFT holders minting them for free and non-BAYC/MAYC enthusiasts purchasing Sewer Pass on the open market. The game comes a month after its creator was accused of secretly promoting Bored Ape NFTs.
An Endless Run with Increasing Difficulty
The game is skill-based and requires players to maintain a score of above 0 for them to unlock more features and powers. According to Yuga Labs, players can continuously play the game since it’s like “an endless runner” where the difficulty increases depending on the number of times played and the progress in the game.
BAYC and MAYC NFT holders have between January 17 and February 18 to claim their free NFTs with Dookey Dash opening its doors to players next week Wednesday, January 18.
On February 15th, validated Sewer Passes will be eligible to transform into a mysterious new power source. (Not a typo — the reveal date was previously set for February 8th, but we’re pushing it a week to validate Sewer Passes first).

Yuga Labs added that players must not trade their Sewer Pass NFTs until February 15 for them “to transform into something new.” The Mutant Ape creator revealed that players will be on a mission to “get in the sewer to dodge and break through obstacles as [they] pick up items called fragments.”
Dookey Dash is Available on Mobile, Tablet and Desktop
A player’s prowess to maneuver inside the sewer earns them scores that will be frozen on February 8 in preparation for a transformation seven days later. The game is supported on the latest versions of Brave, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Edge web browsers on mobile, tablet and desktop.
The new NFT game comes six months after Yuga Labs unveiled the Otherside metaverse project and three weeks after announcing an incoming new CEO. The ApeCoin community also recently launched a marketplace for Yuga Labs’ products, further increasing the appeal of projects created by the Web 3.0 powerhouse.
