According to the brand’s vice CEO Catherine Spindler, the decision to offer more benefits to their NFT holders aligns with Lacoste’s web3 vision to involve collectors in its “creative process.”
The brand joins other similar web2 brands that have recently dived into the web3 world. Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton, for example, has also expanded its offering in the decentralized world with a ‘phygital’ NFT collection dubbed Treasure Trunks.
Nike Leads Fashion Brands in the Web3 World
Adidas, Puma and Nike have also increased their interest in NFTs by collaborating with a web3 artist and an NBA player to boost the adoption of their digital artworks. Nike has however gained more traction in the blockchain space having launched its own web3 platform and partnered with Electronic Arts to offer in-game NFTs.
With Lacoste expanding its NFT benefits, it’s yet to be seen whether the UNDW3 collection will gain more adoption among collectors.
