Toy giant Mattel has announced a new NFT collection featuring cars in the popular Fast & Furious movie series. Dubbed Fast & Furious x Hot Wheels NFT Garage Series, the collection will go live next week Monday 22, and will offer collectors extra perks such as the chance to own a physical model of a car in their holding. The new NFT collection comes less than a week after Mattel partnered with Boss Beauties to publicize Web 3.0 among Women.
Brian O’Conner’s Car Immortalized as NFT
According to Mattel, the collection will feature cars driven by the movie’s stars like Dominic Torreto and Brian O’Conner and each NFT pack will have a mint price of $20. Fast & Furious NFT collectors who collect all 19 virtual cars in a set stand a chance to own a physical model car in the set.
Cars in each pack differ according to rarity. For example, there are three items per pack with a “common” rarity while there’s one item per pack featuring collectibles with a “super rare” rarity level.
Fast & Furious Joins NBA Top Shot
The new collection shares a home with NBA Top Shot on the Flow blockchain and adds to Mattel’s involvement in the digital collectibles space since it has another NFT collection featuring top figures in the Star Wars multimedia franchise.
Mattel’s continued release of new NFT collections featuring popular entities in the traditional world coupled with a low mint price, is likely to attract a large following in the Web 3.0 space.
