Edward Snowden Partners with PleasrDAO for Live NFT Auction

Notorious whistleblower Edward Snowden and political activist Daniel Ellsberg this week announced that they were teaming up with Web 3.0 platform PleasrDAO to conduct a live NFT auction. Snowden and Ellsberg are members of the Freedom of the Press Foundation which unveiled an NFT piece in 2021 that PleasrDAO purchased for  $5.4 million.

The current collection is a joint effort between the whistleblower and the political activist in honor of the activist’s 1971 Pentagon papers, with the DAO providing an auction platform known as PleasrHouse.

McKinsey: Metaverse to Reach $5 Trillion in Value by 2030

Consulting giant McKinsey has indicated that the metaverse can reach a $5 trillion valuation by 2030. In a new report, the company said that providing a smooth user experience will be a key factor in attracting people to the virtual world, consequently driving its valuation. 

According to McKinsey, e-commerce will have the highest potential among consumer use cases.

Yuga Labs Announces New Game and Free NFT Mint

Bored Ape creator Yuga Labs last week announced a new NFT-powered game dubbed Dookey Dash. The game will utilize a digital collectible known as Sewer Pass with Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) NFT holders minting them for free and non-BAYC/MAYC enthusiasts purchasing Sewer Pass on the open market.

The game comes a month after its creator was accused of secretly promoting Bored Ape NFTs.
