Back in April, Craig Wright decided to sue Twitter user Hodlonaut after he allegedly led a “targeted campaign” against Wright. The events that unfolded in the days, weeks, and months following the publicization of the lawsuit have become must-see news, as the crypto community rallied around Hodlonaut. However, Wright was unable to take the Twitter user to court as his identity was not known. Now, Hodlonaut has come out of the shadows and revealed his true identity is trying to turn the tables on Wright by taking him to court.
Playing into Wright’s Trap
Craig Wright only ever tried to take Hodlonaut to court so that he could get his version of events on record in front of a court. While he remained in the shadows, Granath was preventing Wright from getting his court date, but now Granath has filed his own legal action Wright will finally get his court date. Now Hodlonaut has to prove that Wright isn’t Satoshi Nakamoto otherwise he will end up losing the case and the court will rule Wright as the true Satoshi Nakamoto.
Could Wright Actually Be Satoshi?
Wright has been pushing as hard as he can to be declared the true identity behind Satoshi Nakamoto, but he is struggling as the wider crypto community refuse to believe his narrative. Back in May, Wright tried to copyright the Bitcoin whitepaper and it appears as if courts have taken his side in the argument. Simply by registering the document as his own, Wright has been afforded many luxuries. The most important one being that if anyone wants to claim the Bitcoin whitepaper as their own, they have to prove that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto.
Calvin Ayre is Rather Happy
Calvin Ayre is the co-founder of CoinGeek and is a major player in the Bitcoin SV team. He announced the news of the lawsuit between Hodlonaut and Wright on his Twitter account and began by mocking Hodlonaut.:
This is EXACTLY what Craig wanted some PUD to do…file an action and have the burden on them to prove a negative and let Craig get his whole history out in court. Amazing.
Calling Hodlonaut a PUD – a lazy, useless, or weak person – is probably not a great idea right before a court case. If Hodlonaut can try and work this into some form of defamation. Ayre could be in for a little slap on the wrists.
hahaha…Magnus Granath admits he is Twitter name “Hodlonaut” and has filed his own action in Norway. This is EXACTLY what Craig wanted some PUD to do…file an action and have the burden on them to prove a negative and let Craig get his whole history out in court. Amazing.

Hodlonaut now has the huge burden of proving Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto in open court and is representing the entire crypto community. If Hodlonaut fails, Wright will be declared as Satoshi Nakamoto in open court, finally burying the hatchet. At the end of the day, does it really matter who Satoshi Nakamoto is? We really are beginning to wonder.
