- The Pudgy Penguins NFT project has partnered with Mythical Games to build a mobile game
- The game will be powered by Mythos Chain and is set to be launched in 2025
- Mythical Games has been in talks with the NFT project for about a year
Eight months after Pudgy Penguins unveiled its NFTs as physical toys in Walmart stores, the NFT project is pushing deeper into the Web3 world with a mobile game. The project announced a partnership with game development studio Mythical Games to create a mobile game set to be available in 2025 on Mythos Chain. Mythical Games CEO John Linden believes that the game is poised for success due to the work the NFT project has done in linking the virtual world with the physical world, adding another reason why web3 projects should strive to connect to its users outside the virtual realm.
Pudgy Penguins to Use Blankos Block Party’s Engine
Speaking to Decrypt, Linden said that the game studio is the ideal developer since it’s experienced in creating mobile games like NFL Rivals. The studio is also in the process of recreating the Blankos Block Party game to fit a mobile audience.

Linden disclosed that the engine powering Blankos Block Party will be used on the Pudgy Penguins. Apart from helping the NFT project venture deeper into the blockchain world, the partnership will also help bring more users to Mythos Chain.
Pudgy Penguins is currently working on another project, Pudgy World, that focuses on creating a virtual world, further increasing its involvement in the web3 space.
Yuga Labs Sells NFT Games
Pudgy Penguins move comes two days after The Sandbox unveiled a governing body to give gamers a seat at the decision-making table. It also comes a month after Yuga Labs sold its NFT games to Faraway to increase its focus on its other web3 projects like Otherside. Yuga is also working on bringing the Dookey Dash game to a mobile audience.
Although the Pudgy Penguins game is months away from being available, it’s likely to gain considerable attention when it launches due to the project’s connection with the physical and virtual worlds.
