- The Haas F1 Team has partnered with leading NFT marketplace OpenSea to create branded digital artworks
- The partnership also allows the two entities to advertise on each other’s platforms
- The collaboration comes three weeks after Formula One revealed plans to join the Web 3.0 world
Haas F1 Team has joined hands with leading NFT marketplace OpenSea, a move that will see the birth of branded NFTs revolving around the team. The coming together will also give the Formula 1 team an ad space on OpenSea and vice versa. This comes three weeks after Formula One disclosed plans to join the Web 3.0 space, especially in areas touching on metaverse, NFTs and cryptocurrency.
NFTs Get You Closer to the Action
The Haas/OpenSea partnership will see the OpenSea logo appear on the team’s racing cars and branded NFTs available on the marketplace, with OpeSea’s VP of Product Shiva Rajaraman saying that virtual collectibles can bring about encounters that later become an open door to unite people “around the things they love.”
Rajaraman added that the deal will see Haas F1 Team’s fans enjoy experiences that will bridge the gap between them and the action.
First Steps Need a Leader
Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner also commented on the partnership, noting that it has taken time to find an NFT marketplace that would be the best fit as the team takes its “first steps into the NFT environment.” Steiner appreciated OpenSea’s leadership in the NFT space noting that they have valuable links with “key players” in the industry.
The partnership comes at a time when the NFT marketplace is adding new features to, among other things, block stolen NFTs and allow bulk NFT listing. It’s also among the latest moves in the sports industry seeking to tap into NFTs and Web 3.0 to strengthen fan engagement and brand promotion.
