  • Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the launch of his NFT collection on Binance NFT
  • This comes five months after revealing a partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange
  • Ronaldo’s club Manchester United is also set to debut an NFT collection

Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has finally revealed that his NFT collection will be dropping on Binance NFT on Friday, November 18. The launch comes five months after Ronaldo and Binance announced their partnership and comes on the eve of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Interestingly Ronaldo’s club, Manchester United, is also planning to launch its NFT collection, right at a time when the two have fallen out.

Ronaldo’s Epic Moments in Web 3.0

In a tweet on November 15, Ronaldo asked his fans to invest in the “CR7 NFT Collection” for a chance “to join [his] Web 3.0 community.” The collection will feature key moments in the footballer’s glittering career. Those looking to have early access to the collection need to register at Binance NFT to be notified when the collection is available for purchase.

Ronaldo’s statement follows on from his June announcement that he and Binance would be coming together for a “legendary NFT partnership”, with Binance Pay the only means of paying for the collection as Binance looks to boost its payments portal. Manchester United is also planning to release a virtual collection powered by the Tezos blockchain in the run up to the World Cup.

Manchester United has “Betrayed” Ronaldo

In June, the five-time Ballon D’or winner said that the NFT drop was meant to strengthen his relationship with his fans which he considered “very important”. However, Ronaldo has undermined this by conducting an interview with Piers Morgan in which he said that the club has betrayed him.

Binance scored a coup when they bagged Ronaldo, and it will be hoping he creates some memorable moments at the World Cup for them to enshrine in NFT form.
