- Arthur Hayes has disclosed the idea behind his Bitcoin NFT collection called “Airheads”

American entrepreneur and former BitMEX exchange CEO has explained the reasoning behind his Bitcoin NFT collection known as “Airheads.” According to Hayes, each collectible in the collection is a representation of how inflation has infiltrated different sections of our lives. Hayes added that the collection allows collectors to “showcase and flex” their wealth, which is a unique way for web3 users to showcase the size and value of their digital portfolio.
A Fun Way to Display Your Wealth
Hayes disclosed that each collectible is a unique Bitcoin Ordinal that takes the form of an inflatable balloon-like character, adding that the collectibles were “generated using recursive art.”
The size of the characters, however, is determined by a collector’s digital portfolio at the time of minting. The entrepreneur said that he intends to provide “a fun and competitive way” for web3 users to display their wealth.
According to Hayes, every human condition is a form of art. He added that art comes in different shapes like playing sports, eating in restaurants, and listening to music, noting that the end product of these art forms is to entertain.
Airheads Come With “Mysterious Packaging Variants”
The ex-BitMEX executive also disclosed that the collectibles are divided into 10 tiers depending on the size of the portfolio size it was meant to represent. Collectibles in the collection also come with “mysterious packaging variants.”
Collectors can earn Airheads Ordinals by being part of a whitelist, competing to top a leaderboard using “Bitcoin, Ordinals, BRC-20, and Runes,” and purchasing a “Whale Pass.”
With Hayes launching an NFT collection, it’s to be seen whether other notable figures in the crypto scene like Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and ex-Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao will follow the same path.
