  • DeGods NFT founder Rohun Vora has resigned and announced his replacement
  • Vora said his “chapter is closing, but the story isn’t over”
  • Vora named pseudonymous entities Pastagotsauce and 0x_chill as the new leaders

Rohun Vora, the founder of the DeGods NFT project, has stepped down as CEO, noting that his “chapter” at the project has closed. Vora disclosed that any wrongdoing or investigations didn’t precipitate his resignation because he has “never done anything illegal,” adding that the project’s “story isn’t over.”  The ex-DeGods CEO named pseudonymous entities Pastagotsauce and 0x_chill as the new leaders, whom they may have worked together to create or run the project.

Welcoming a New Team to “Cook”

In an X thread, Vora said he dedicated three years to DeGods and the y00ts NFT projects, noting that he’s happy to hand over “the reigns” to a new team and “watch them cook.” According to Vora, the new team may be the answer to advancing the project’s future.

The ex-CEO disclosed that he experienced hate from the community, but noted that those spreading the hate thought they were protecting the industry. Vora said he enjoyed working with the NFT community more than “the money or clout.”

0X_chill’s X profile shows he’s the co-founder of the DeGods NFT project. He has also pinned a post about the project from February last year, saying his story with the project “is somewhat epic.”

Is Something New Coming

Pastagotsauce told his Discrod followers that the collection is working to release “something for the people still here – an homage to the last three years.” He added that the release will change the look of the project, noting that the project’s fans want it “chaotic, creative, and fun.”

Pastagotsauce also disclosed that the new team plans to make DeGods the biggest NFT project. The change in leadership comes at a time when the collection is experiencing a surge in sales volume.

In the week ending May 12, for example, it recorded over 100% increase in sales volume in the week ending May 12 on both Solana and Ethereum. Vora’s exit comes less than two years after another DeGods co-founder, pseudonymously known as Finn DeGods, left the project under unclear circumstances.

With Vora leaving, it’s to be seen how the new leadership will revamp the project.
