The Wonderland protocol that has been involved in something of a crypto scandal in the past few days has survived a winding up vote. The vote, put to the community on Saturday and which ended last night, saw a huge late swing in favor of the project continuing, eventually winning the vote with a 65.75% / 34.26% victory. This news comes after an earlier vote to remove the project’s treasurer, recently unmasked as convicted fraudster Michael Patryn, was passed with a near 88% majority. Wonderland will now have to consider its future and how it should operate going forward.

Wonderland’s problems began last Patryn was unmasked as being Wonderland’s treasurer, just days after what some in the community considered odd moves of Wonderland treasury money. Wonderland lead Daniele Sestagalli admitted that he had known Patryn’s identity for around a month but hadn’t said anything, with his judgement immediately coming under fire.

As a result of these activities, two votes were quickly enacted – one asking if Patryn should be removed as treasurer and the other whether the project should continue at all. The Patryn vote, which ended Friday night, went about as well for him as could be expected:

The second vote went live on Saturday, and by yesterday afternoon it was already looking bleak for Wonderland, as was noted by Sestagalli:

However, some big hitters came through and voted for the platform to continue, leaving things in a state of limbo where its founder is ready to scrap it and start again but the community wants to continue:

With the vote having only recently finished, Wonderland supporters will have to wait and see what Sestagalli and his team choose to do next in this divided frog nation, a set of circumstances that could all have been avoided if Sestagalli had informed the community of Patryn’s identity the moment he knew.
