Luxury sports cars manufacturer Lamborghini has partnered with Animoca Brands to offer its cars in web3 games. The cars will be available through a yet-to-be-launched collectibles platform, “Fast ForWorld,” scheduled to go live early next month. The platform will serve as the car manufacturer’s central place to explore the web3 space, an indication that Lamborghini is likely to venture deeper into the space and allow collectors to trade their digital cars.

Revv and Torque Drift 2 to Feature Lamborghini Cars

According to Lamborghini, the platform will offer users a wallet to store, “interact, and play with their cars.” Fast ForWorld will work with an Animoca Brands subsidiary, Motorverse, which focuses on creating a library of digital cars and supporting the motorsport culture.

The cars will be available within Motorverse games like REVV and Torque Drift 2. Access to Fast ForWorld will be granted to those holding a virtual Lamborghini Revuelto set to be released in November.

The virtual car also unlocks other “exclusive benefits both within the platform and beyond.” Lamborghini’s entry into the blockchain gaming scene comes less than two months after the sports cars manufacturer partnered with Animoca Brands to explore brand engagement in the virtual arena.

Not Always a Smooth Path

Lamborghini isn’t, however, the only car maker exploring NFTs, web3, blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Ferrari, for example, recently announced an expansion of its cryptocurrency payment option.

Japanese automobile giant Nissan has tapped the metaverse to showcase the health and safety conditions of its cars. However, car manuafacturers haven’t always had a smooth entry into the web3 space. Porsche, for example, has in the past faced criticism after launching an NFT collection.

With Lamborghini joining the blockchain world, it’s to be seen whether its customers will follow it to the digital space.
