- Sony has partnered with Yoake to convert Netflix’s Seven Deadly Sins into NFTs
- The collection is known as “YOAKE & The Seven Deadly Sins Anime Series”
- Sony’s Soneium blockchain powers the collection
Sony has partnered with Yoake, a fan engagement protocol, to create an NFT collection based on the popular Netflix anime series The Seven Deadly Sins. Known as “YOAKE & The Seven Deadly Sins Anime Series,” the collection is powered by Sony’s Soneium blockchain and features memorable scenes in the series. The collection is available on NFT marketplace OpenSea, where it has a floor price of 0.0034 ETH and a total traded volume of 6 ETH, barely three days after launch.
16,573 NFTs Minted in Three Days
According to OpenSea, the collection has 16,573 collectibles minted during the public stage that started on March 25 and ended on March 28. Data from the NFT marketplace indicates that 89% of the collection’s collectors hold one collectible, with 8% holding 2-3 items, and 2% holding 4-10 NFTs. Only 0.2% hold more than 50 collectibles.
Most NFTs have buy offers at a price of between 0.001-0.005 ETH, while sell listings are concentrated at 0.004-0.0045 ETH. OpenSea has facilitated the sale of 3,861 NFTs from the collection.
Holders of collectibles from the collection will “have early access to future Yoake experiences [and will be] recognized as early contributor[s] to” to the fan engagement protocol.
Blending Blockchain and Japanese Pop Culture Via NFTs
Sony intends to use the collection to blend blockchain technology with Japanese pop culture. An OpenSea description shows that Yoake links Japan’s cultural exports like anime, fashion, music, and idols with the “global entertainment ecosystem powered by Soneium.”
The collection comes two weeks after the tech heavyweight unveiled an NFT collection to celebrate Aibo’s 25th anniversary. It also comes seven months after Sony launched the Soneium mainnet to boost the adoption of web3 technology. Soneium recently partnered with Animoca Brands to popularize web3 technology among anime fans.
With Soneium hosting NFTs based on the popular Netflix anime series, it’s evident that Sony is committed to boosting web3 adoption in the anime world.
