Ex-Facebook executive Atif Khan has joined web3 company Thirdweb to help boost the adoption of blockchain gaming. According to Khan, web3 developers are looking for modular solutions to ease their work, adding that Thirdweb is well-positioned to provide such solutions under one roof. Although the web3 company recently released a blockchain game, it majors in creating a toolkit for developers looking to create NFTs and wallets among other blockchain-based products and services.

No Need to Go to Seven or Eight Places

Khan, who joined Thirdweb as its vice president of gaming, said that he intends to lead the company in developing a comprehensive web3 toolkit that prevents creators in the decentralized world from going “to seven or eight places” to solve their problems.

Apart from a comprehensive toolkit, he disclosed that the company is also open to offering customized solutions to specific developer needs.

According to Khan, web3 games are slowly embracing playability and shifting from the play-to-earn model that saw blockchain game developers concentrate on the monetary aspect that removed the fun from games.

Blockchain Gaming To “Explode” in 18 Months

He also observed that blockchain gaming is likely to explode in the next 18 months, adding that the explosion will be powered by the blockchain’s “value to users and developers.

Khan’s sentiments coincide with a recent report indicating that web3 gaming is expected to flourish in the coming months, discrediting a previous survey stating that conventional gamers aren’t planning to embrace blockchain games.

With the ex-Facebook exec’s entry into the web3 space, it’s clear that blockchain technology is stamping its authority in the gaming world.
