  • Cool Cats NFT creator has disclosed that the project will display its collectibles during this year’s Macey’s Thanksgiving Parade scheduled for November

  • Cool Cats will display a cat and a milk carton printed on a balloon

Blockchain-based assets have again invaded the physical world with Cool Cats NFTs set to be featured in this year’s Macey’s Thanksgiving Parade set for November. Although the project will be the first from the web3 world to participate in the event which is almost a century old, it won’t be the first to be featured in a physical event since others like Banksy NFT have been loaned for display at museums. The Cool Cats NFT will match in the form of a balloon displaying a cat and a milk carton, a sign that blockchain projects are ready to think outside the box to promote the virtual world.

A Dream Come True

In an announcement, Cool Cats NFTs founder only known as Clon said that he’s been a fan of the parade since his childhood and having one of his creations participate in the event “alongside some of the world’s most recognized characters is a dream come true.”

Apart from being featured in the event, the NFT project is also preparing to unveil physical and virtual merchandise for sale at Macy’s physical stores and online shop. The project revealed that physical goods like hoodies will come with “digital activation features.”

The parade’s producer Jordan Dabby said that it’s thrilling to bring virtual collectibles to the physical world, adding that the event’s “fans will be delighted.”

Adidas, Louis Vuitton and Nike Have NFT-linked Physical Items

The move comes as many traditional and NFT firms look for ways to interface digital collectibles with the real world. Art Blocks and Bright Moments, for example, have joined hands to connect NFTs with real-world objects and cities like New York. Others like Adidas, Nike and Louis Vuitton have unveiled NFT-linked physical items.

With Macey’s Thanksgiving Parade set for November 23, more NFT projects will likely join the parade.
