The Aptos blockchain has recorded a growth of 900% in a month after welcoming the India-based social platform Chingari. The social media platform abandoned Solana for Aptos due to outages on Solana which impacted the social media platform’s user experience. The rise in users also saw an increase in the total amount of gas fees paid on the blockchain.

Aptos to Overshadow Solana by 10x

The growth is directly linked to the social media platform since it accounts for around 80% of all daily users on the blockchain, with half of the transaction fees paid on the network within the last month coming from Chingari-linked activities. The number of transactions has also spiked by 1.5 times within the same period.

According to Chingari CEO Sumit Ghosh, the platform’s uptake on Aptos is likely to overshadow its adoption on Solana by more than 10 times, adding that they are anticipating to clock 20 million “on-chain users” in the platform’s first year.

Ghosh disclosed that shifting from Solana to Aptos has helped the platform launch new features such as blockchain-powered digital gifts. It has also led to the creation of a wallet that allows Chingari users to be rewarded for creating content, interacting with content and powers the redemption of the rewards for NFTs or gifts.

Solana Outages and a Hack Not Good for Business

Solana has been losing business to other blockchains due to outages and a massive wallet hack. Other projects that have ditched Solana include DeGods and Y00ts NFT projects, with the blockchain’s infrastructure provider Cardinal shutting down due to unfavorable market conditions.

With Aptos and Chingaro benefiting from each other, it’s yet to be seen whether it’ll contribute to other web3 projects leaving Solana.
