Litecoin Hodlers Can Checkout Using Flexa Systems

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A number of payment processors and POS manufacturers have been hard at work developing systems that allow crypto hodlers to pay in stores using their crypto. Earlier this year, Flexa and Gemini teamed up to develop software that will turn any existing POS machine into one that will generate QR codes to allow customers to pay in Bitcoin. Whole Foods quickly snapped up the chance to use the technology, along with a number of other top tier brands. Now, Flexa has added support for Litecoin, meaning Litecoin hodlers can pay for their groceries, coffee and snacks using their precious Litecoin.

Litecoin Gaining Access to 39,250 Stores

Litecoin has been looking for a major break in the payments department, and it looks like the Bitcoin fork has finally got its wish. By being accepted by Flexa, Litecoin users can now pay for their shopping at more than 39,250 stores across the United States. Just a number of top brands where Litecoin users can pay using Litecoin are: Barnes & Noble, Baskin Robbins, Bed Bath & Beyond, Caribou Coffee, Crate and Barrel, Gamestop, Nordstrom and Regal Cinemas.

Taking Center Stage

When it comes to soaking up the limelight, nobody knows how to do it quite like Litecoin. Back in December 2018, Litecoin decided to sponsor UFC 232. There were a number of huge fights on the night, including a few shock results. That exposure was huge for Litecoin as thousands of UFC fans tuned in and saw the logo on the canvas. Had Litecoin already had a partnership with Flexa, Litecoin payments could have been accepted on fight night – perhaps something we will see at future UFC events.

Crypto Coming to WhatsApp

While with Flexa you need to download and use the official SPEDN app, other developers are working on wallets that plug into your WhatsApp account. Thanks to the team at Lite.im, you can now install a bot that acts as a crypto wallet directly in WhatsApp. The Lite.im bot is quick and easy to set up, as well as packing an intuitive user interface. So, if you’re looking for a handy crypto wallet, Lite.im might be worth a go.

As Flexa gives stores all around the US the opportunity to start accepting crypto, numerous stores and platforms are removing the crypto payment option. Earlier this year we saw Twitch remove its popular Bitcoin payment method – a move that shocked the streaming world. As the months roll on, we will likely see more big name brands sign up to Flexa.
