Litecoin News
Litecoin (LTC) is a cryptocurrency based on an open source blockchain project released in 2017. It’s a hard fork of the original Bitcoin blockchain, but with a few minor adjustments – namely the consensus algorithm. Litecoin is a faster and cheaper alternative to Bitcoin and was created by an ex-Google developer called Charlie Lee. Each Litecoin block takes 2.5 minutes to mine compared to Bitcoin’s 10 minutes along with the use of scrypt in the Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm that makes it ASIC resistant, meaning it can still be mined using a PC. Litecoin is incredibly popular and has been ranked as one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies for a number of years and is showing no signs of fading out of the charts.
