Three Solid Crypto Projects to Watch in 2021

Reading Time: 2 minutes
  • The crypto space is full of meme coins, scams, and projects that, at the very least, flatter to deceive
  • However, some blockchain projects have legitimate real-world use and could go on to have a great 2021
  • We highlight three projects that we think have the potential to revolutionize their sectors

The cryptocurrency space is full of vaporware and projects promising the world and delivering little. However, among the raft of DeFi meme coins, solutions in search of a problem, and projects that have little or no real world application, there are some that have a legitimate claim to call themselves potentially revolutionary in their sector. As a result, we’ve done some digging and come up with three solid crypto projects that we think are among the most promising in the space and that have the potential to outlast any market-wide apocalypse.

Enjin (ENJ)

Enjin has been something of a sleeper project in the crypto space but it is one of the most solid crypto projects in terms of partnerships and real-world use. In 2019 Samsung chose the Enjin wallet on its range of new Galaxy S10 smartphones just weeks before a partnership with Microsoft was announced over their Azure Heroes; in 2020 a blockchain plugin for Minecraft was unveiled; and earlier this year ENJ became the first gaming token to be authorized by the Japanese Virtual Currency Exchange Association.

Enjin is without doubt leading the way in terms of integrating blockchain into gaming, and a combination of first mover advantage and with such a huge canvas as online gaming on which to paint, we could see ENJ performing very well this year.

Telcoin (TEL)

Telcoin isn’t a new entrant into the space, but it remains criminally underappreciated. Telcoin is a remittance platform that has been a fixture in the crypto space since 2017, since when it has struck up a number of partnerships Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA), TouchPay, Jumia, GCash and more, allowing the hundreds of millions of users in several countries to safely and easily send money to each other through the internet or SMS on their phones.

With remittance being one of the areas that cryptocurrency is ripe to revolutionize, Telcoin is perhaps the finest exponent of this particular flavor of cryptocurrency use, and with more partnerships allegedly on the way this year, 2021 could finally be the year that Telcoin gets the recognition it deserves as one of the most solid crypto projects around.

Cecil Alliance (Ticker TBC)

Cecil Alliance has been in the works since 2018, first as the equine-focused MustangChain but later expanded to incorporate more animals following demand from other entities. Named after the famous lion killed for sport in Zimbabwe in 2015, Cecil proposes to protect animal welfare by tracking the individual identity, breeding information, ownership, healthcare, travel and more of animals on the blockchain, from pets to racehorses.

Operating on the VeChain platform, Cecil Alliance is yet to launch on exchanges but is expected to go live during Q2 of this year. Development of the platform is ongoing and there are rumors of huge partnerships already in place that will represent some of the biggest real-world adoption from a blockchain project to date.
