BitStarz News has been afforded a sneak peek into the rapid developments being made by Cecil Alliance Foundation (CAF) following the teaser posted on Twitter by CEO van de Griend of the alpha build of CAF’s first product, MustangChain. The updates show that progress is well underway in Cecil’s desire to leverage the power of blockchain to build the Internet of Animals and improve animal welfare worldwide.
Received the alpha built of the MustangChain (d)application during a drive. Indescribable feeling, after 2 years giving all we had, seeing the first breath of MustangChain…I want to thank all people and partners for being part of this journey so far, this one is for you. #IoA? pic.twitter.com/46ahS8V8h7

MustangChain is Off to the Races
MustangChain is the first platform to provide cryptographic record keeping for the multi-billion-dollar equine industry. With blockchain technology at its core, the platform will enable equine owners to create a trusted Animal Digital Identity (ADI) for each animal on a single platform, allowing stakeholders such as veterinarians and studbooks to securely and safely collect, track and share equine medical, identification and lineage data. Additional stakeholders such as trainers, Federations, Associations, Organizations and Foundations will be added in 2020. MustangChain, which will sit on the VeChain Thor blockchain, will use the CECIL token system at its core to empower a new animal data sharing economy that will start with horses but looks to expand into canine and feline in the near future.
A Much Needed Solution
Van de Griend explained the motive behind Cecil in an exclusive interview back in May, stating that the reason the project started with MustangChain before expanding is because the equine industry is in desperate need of a platform that can “reduce fraud and bring trust and transparency” to the sector. Implementing a standard like MustangChain would dramatically reduce the dangers posed to animals in the equine industry. With the iOS/Android alpha builds of the product clearly coming along as well as a web version for veterinarians and studbooks also in development, it shouldn’t be long before we see the Internet of Animals taking shape with Cecil poised to take the lead in the sector.
