  • Ronin Wallet has introduced new features such as an inbuilt web browser and support for more blockchains
  • Most of the new features will be available on the wallet’s mobile version
  • Other features include a revamped design that displays more information to users

Ronin network’s official wallet is letting its users on iOS and Android-powered devices access more features with its latest upgrade. The upgrade brings an inbuilt web browser, support for Polygon, BNB Chain and Ethereum blockchains and a new design that lets users view extra information about their assets in a single glance. The update also introduces multi-party computation (MPC), a feature that allows users to add extra layers of security to their assets, a trait that comes in handy at a time when crypto hackers are using new methods to compromise web3 wallets.

Upgrade to Take 14 Days

In an announcement, Ronin disclosed that the upgrade is so huge that it’ll be conducted “in phases over the next 14 days” meaning that some wallet users will have to wait before the upgrade is available to them. The current wallet version will however operate normally as they wait for the update.

The wallet’s new multi-chain support feature will allow users to access decentralized apps (Dapps), NFTs and manage tokens on supported blockchains.

Ronin also revealed that the wallet’s daily usage is roughly 500,000 users and is on a mission to increase the number to millions by attracting “muggles [and] cryptonatives from other communities.” According to Ronin, the new features are part of its mission to bring more entities to the “fastest-growing gaming blockchain in the world.”

Axi Infinity Reworks Rewards Model

Developed by Sky Mavis, Ronin is an Ethereum layer 2 focusing on the blockchain gaming sector and is home to the popular Axie Infinity web3 game.

The upgrade comes ten months after Sky Mavis partnered with game studios to drive the adoption of blockchain games. It also comes a week after Axie Infinity announced it’s reworking its reward token earning model to try and popularize the game among players.

With the new features focusing on users on mobile devices, it’s to be seen whether they’ll be enough to attract a larger following.
