In many ways, 2023 saw crypto paying the price for its sins; Sam, CZ, Binance, and others either admitted their previous transgressions or denied them and were found guilty anyway. They will pay the price, allowing crypto to purge itself and start afresh.
Allied with this new start has been a New Hope – institutions are champing at the bit to get at the Bitcoin ETF that seems inevitable, with the Bitcoin price reflecting the acceptance of the cryptocurrency as a genuine asset on the world stage. Then there’s the increasing adoption of Lighting Network payments globally, allowing Bitcoin to be a store of value and a payment method.
2023 has been a mixed bag, but 2024 promises to be, whisper it, spectacular.
