- The web3 game has been in development for three years
- Players will earn the game’s currency, Quanta
Web3 game Forgotten Runiverse has launched on Ronin after being in development for three years and undergoing over “1 million hours of” testing. The game is still in the early access phase and allows players to earn Quanta, a token that will later be exchanged with the game’s native token, XP, among other rewards. Forgotten Runiverse’s creators disclosed that they intend to keep the game in the early access phase for a little longer to give them enough time to polish the game and move it “closer to [their] grand vision,” an indication that they want to incorporate community feedback before the full rollout.
Web3 Game Approved for PlayStation

The launch marks the start of a playtest segment called Moonlit Wilds. The segment allows gamers to create structures on NFT land plots, go on quests, master spells, and mint items, among other activities.
According to Ronin, examples of structures players can build on their plots include a player house, a gathering station, an atelier, and a Forge to craft equipment. Ronin disclosed that in-game items are “a Runiverse NFT collection,” adding that all the items are “essential to gameplay.”

Launching Ronin-Based NFTs With OpenSea
The game’s launch comes two days after Ronin NFTs went live on NFT exchange OpenSea, allowing everyone to trade and launch “NFTs on Ronin with OpenSea. It also comes two months after Ronin partnered with Transak to enhance NFT payments.
With Forgotten Runiverse in the early access phase, it’s to be seen whether it’ll attract sizeable attention when the crypto, NFT, and web3 spaces are experiencing a slump in activities.
