The Doge king himself, Elon Musk, has promised to tackle the issue of cryptocurrency spam bots on Twitter following his ascension to the platform’s board this week. Musk’s place on the Twitter board cost him a mere $2.9 billion for a 9.2% stake in the company, making him Twitter’s largest shareholder, with the news of his purchase coming just days after the Tesla chief complained about Twitter’s approach to censoring information. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal welcomed Musk to the board yesterday, although how genuine this welcome was given that Musk has already stated numerous other ways he wants to change the service is debatable.
Musk Already Dictating Changes
Musk has spent much of the past week asking his followers about certain features of Twitter, spitting out polls like welding sparks regarding things like how it manages content, an edit button, and other ‘improvements’. No doubt Agrawal was thrilled to see that Musk was already taking his position as managing director board member seriously before he’d even got his feet through the door.
He would have been equally thrilled to see how Musk responded to his welcome tweet:

Twitter Crypto Spam Bots to be Battled
Among these “significant changes”, alongside the much needed edit button, will be a way of tackling the crypto spam bots that have plagued the crypto Twitter experience since 2017. When one user replied with a suggestion that “you need to do something about these crypto spam bots”, Musk responded by agreeing that they are the “single most annoying problem on Twitter”, something that Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao also agreed with:

Whatever happens from this point on, it’s a fair bet that you had better have some popcorn handy. Expect the first Musk Twitter boardroom meeting to be a ticketed event.
