Cleveland Cavaliers Announce Advertising Deal with UnitedCoin

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Crypto has slowly been making its way into the sporting world, with numerous top teams from sports around the globe hosting adverts for various crypto products. This time around it’s the turn of the Cleveland Cavaliers who have just signed a deal with UnitedCoin. The deal will mean that UnitedCoin gets prime ad placement around the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, ranging from hoarding to logos on press conference boards.

A Huge Break for UnitedCoin

UnitedCoin has a massive list of competitors, meaning it’s tough to stand out from the crowd. Back in 2016, UnitedCoin took part in the Mexico branch of Plug and Play – a startup accelerator program – helping it to gain the momentum it needed to develop its platform. According to UnitedCoin, 20% of all company profits are pumped back into the ecosystem, meaning account holders gain rewards. On top of that, there is a 2% monthly interest on your UnitedCoin savings account. While it’s not quite as good as the 6% offered from Zeux, it’s certainly a lot better than most high-street banks will offer you.

Cavs Legion Joining In

The Cavs aren’t the only Cleveland team to sign up to this epic advertising deal, the Cavs Legion – Cleveland Cavaliers’ very own Esports team – is also taking part. Adverts for UnitedCoin will appear at events where the Cavs Legion are playing as well as in live-stream videos and much more. This side deal could be worth more to UnitedCoin as the demographic that watch Esports are generally more techy and are therefore more likely to prescribe to UnitedCoin’s platform.

Litecoin Making a Splash in Miami

Earlier this week, we saw an announcement from Litecoin that it’s teaming up with the Miami Dolphins. The deal will see Litecoin and Bitcoin accepted for the team’s 50/50 raffle starting on the 2019/20 season. The trial will allow Dolphins fans the chance to buy their tickets using two of the most popular cryptocurrencies. If the deal goes well and crypto payments are popular, we could see the Dolphins move to accept cryptocurrencies for tickets in the 2020/21 season.

In a press release, Derek Jones – UnitedCoin Founder and CEO – said:

Our partnership is a great opportunity to introduce Cavs and Legion fans to our insured blockchain platform and to educate them about and the benefits of cryptocurrency, a safe and secure alternative to spending cash.

If the new advertising deal works out well, we could see more people in the US taking an interest in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. This could be a huge step for mass adoption.
