  • Bybit has announced plans to launch a Solana-powered DEX known as Byreal
  • The exchange will have the liquidity level of CEXs and the transparency of DEXs
  • Byreal’s testnet will be available for use by the end of this month

Popular crypto exchange Bybit has announced plans to launch a Solana-powered DEX, Byreal, by the end of the month. Bybit disclosed that Byreal will combine “CEX-grade liquidity with DeFi-native transparency,” adding that it will provide low price slippage and protect users against MEV (maximum extractable value) attacks. The exchange noted that it’s working “alongside Solana” to bring new users, assets, and demand to the Solana ecosystem, something that’s likely to boost the adoption of Solana-based projects.

Bybit’s First On-Chain DEX

In an X post, Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said Byreal is Bybit’s first on-chain DEX. He added that they created the DEX from scratch, noting that it combines the synergy of both centralized and decentralized exchanges.

Zhou observed that combining features from the two worlds defines “real hybrid finance.” According to the exchange’s X page, “Byreal is built to turn fragmented liquidity into unified opportunity.”

The Bybit CEO disclosed that Byreal will use a system that integrates RFQ (Request for Quote) with CLMM (Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker) to serve its users better. RFQ focuses on users requesting price quotes from several sources, while CLMM ensures sufficient liquidity at specific price ranges.

Byreal Comes With an Official Token

Byreal will also have an official token known as BYRL, which will serve as “the core of a transparent ecosystem.” The token is currently in the presale phase and is scheduled for listing on June 30.

The exchange’s testnet will launch on June 30, with the full platform expected to go live before the end of September.

Bybit’s move comes two months after the exchange shuttered its NFT Marketplace, Inscription Marketplace, and Initial DEX Offerings. The exchange also axed its Cloud Wallet, Swap & Bridge, and Keyless Wallet.

With Solana already having successful DEXs like Raydium, Pump.fun’s PumpSwap, and Jupiter, it’s to be seen whether Byreal will receive widespread adoption when it launches.
