This week’s Web3 Woundup features Doodles launching a pop-up experience in Chicago, OpenSea launching a peer-to-peer NFT service, and Moonbirds’ new Mythics NFT collection.
Let’s keep this dragon out for a bit longer shall we? Should be fairy easy.
Doodles Announces a Pop-up Family Experience
NFT giant Doodles this week announced a physical family-centric entertainment store in collaboration with Camp, a shop-and-play company. Located near Lincoln Park in Chicago, the store will feature a play area plus other experiences suitable for kids and adults.
Scheduled to open in August, the experience is among Doodles’ first attempts to uniquely intertwine the physical world with the virtual.
OpenSea Launches Peer-to-Peer NFT Swaps
Leading NFT marketplace OpenSea this week launched a new feature that allows NFT traders to swap collectibles between themselves. Known as Deals, the marketplace wants to use it to boost engagement between traders on the platform while also safeguarding them from scammers targeting NFT traders.
The new feature adds to an array of other features the platform has been releasing to support creators and collectors.
Moonbirds Goes Mythic
Moonbirds creator Proof this week unveiled a new Ethereum-based NFT collection known as Mythics which will be available to holders of Proof-supported NFTs. The collection is an evolution of the popular Moonbirds NFTs and features generative images of fictitious birds which differ in appearance from those in the original Moonbirds collection.
Mythics have a unique reveal schedule that is estimated to last for about six months. The collection houses 20,000 collectibles which have a rather unusual minting process; to receive a Mythics NFT, a holder of Moonbirds collectibles will need to stake their bird in what Proof calls nesting for it to ‘lay’ a mythical egg that when incubated gives rise to a Mythics NFT.
