Cryptopia is a New Zealand-based exchange that favors altcoins that was founded in 2014. They have suffered several hacks in their history, most notably in January 2019 when they saw some $16 million worth of tokens stolen, but they reopened two months later. Having been in the space for some time and given that they frequently list coins not found elsewhere, they are often a popular exchange during bull runs.
