- Pump.fun has deactivated its livestreaming feature after community backlash
- The community had complained that some token developers are using the feature to conduct dangerous stunts to attract investors
- The platform said the feature will be paused indefinitely
Token launchpad Pump.fun has paused its livestreaming feature after the community lamented its misuse by some token developers. The feature allowed users to stream a live video of themselves developing a token or conducting activities to attract investors to their projects. Pump.fun said that the feature will be paused until there are adequate mechanisms to regulate “the heightened levels of” user activities on the platform, something that may see users move to external platforms like X, Facebook, and TikTok to promote their tokens.
Pump.fun To Start Publishing Guidelines
In an announcement, Pump.fun said that it has been moderating inappropriate activities including deleting live videos to uphold “a safe and respectful environment.”
It added that the number of users conducting live streams skyrocketed by more than 100X in less than a week making it hard to take down harmful content in time despite investing more in moderation systems.
The platform revealed that it’ll start publishing guidelines on how to use the platform. Some of the things that irked the crypto community include Pump.fun users threatening to harm themselves, their children, or pets if their tokens didn’t reach a certain market cap.
Users Attract Attention Through Hazardous Stunts
In one instance, a user said that they’d commit suicide if his audience didn’t buy his coin. Another user promised to shoot a gun out of a window each time their token’s price appreciated.
Hey @pumpdotfun there is currently someone using your livestreams to threaten to hang themselves if the coin does not reach a set marketcap.
Absolutely heinous and It needs to come down + see if you can get them help.
Shut down the livestream feature. This is out of control.

There are also reports of users saying they’ll kill family members, shoot at a school, shoot a dog, punch a 3-year-old every four minutes, and pretend to be a dog all in the name of increasing interest in their tokens.
This week on pump fun:
– Man pretending to be a dog
– Man sitting on a toilet and refusing to move until coin hits 25 million.
– Man threatening to shoot his dog if the coin doesn’t hit 1 million.
– Man threatening to hang himself if the coin doesn’t hit 1 million.

With Pump.fun temporarily removing the livestreaming feature, it’s to be seen whether this will affect the number of tokens created on the platform daily.
