- Ledger has announced the ‘Flex’ wallet, the second in its touchscreen range
- Flex features similar features to the Stax but at a cheaper price point
- Ledger has also introduced the Security Key app, which acts as a passkey signer
Ledger has announced the ‘Flex’ wallet, the second wallet in its touchscreen range. Following on from the reveal of Stax in 2022, Flex also features a touchscreen and the latest in Ledger’s security developments. In addition to the Flex, Ledger also announced its new Security Key app, which replaces conventional passwords with passkey capabilities.
Smaller, Cheaper Stax
The Ledger Flex is an advanced hardware wallet designed to provide best-in-class security for managing digital assets. It features a 2.84” touchscreen with E Ink technology, allowing users to personalize the lock screen with images or NFTs.
The device incorporates a Secure Element chip and Ledger OS, ensuring private keys are kept offline and safe from cyber threats, supports multi-device connectivity with iOS, Android, and desktops, and integrates with the Ledger Live app for easy management of assets, staking, and transactions.

Ledger’s touchscreen category shows how far the hardware wallet space is progressing, with the crypto world crying out for a more user-friendly interface and cellphone-like operation. However, customers have been complaining that Stax wallets ordered following the launch in 2022 have still not been delivered, with Ledger noting that it has a 100,000 waitlist for the premium device.
Flex users will also be able to use their device as a passkey for websites and applications that support it, acting as a physical passkey as well as a hardware wallet. This additional functionality is the kind of thing that is helping Ledger regain market share after its disastrous data breaches in the early 2020s.
