Nvidia is a leading manufacture of graphics cards and related hardware, popular among gamers for the high quality of their cards. They were huge beneficiaries of the cryptocurrency boom in 2017 as individuals began to mine with graphics cards due to their dedicated power, and as a result saw a huge boom in sales and demand for their top cards outstripped supply, seeing prices surge. Nvidia increased their reserves of graphics cards to try and cope with demand, but the new cards only arrived in time for the 2018 bear market which saw mining become unprofitable, resulting in a flood of used cards hitting the market. Demand and prices dropped, leaving Nvidia with warehouses full of unwanted cards. They remain publicly bullish on a crypto revival by 2020.
