Hard Fork News
A hard fork is the splitting of a blockchain to create a twin, forcing nodes to adopt the existing branch or the new one. Holding a token through a hard fork usually ensures that the holder receives the matching amount of tokens on the newly created chain rather than having them split in two. The most famous example of a hard fork is the Bitcoin hard fork of August 2017 which resulted in the creation of Bitcoin Cash. Another famous hard fork occurred in 2016 when Ethereum performed a hard fork to reverse the theft of 3.6 million ETH, creating Ethereum Classic.
