BTT is the ticker assigned to BitTorrent token, the token associated with the BitTorrent peer-to-peer client that was bought by Tron in 2018. The BTT token will enable faster downloads and better swarm longevity for the entire network, while also encouraging content creators to use the site connect to their audience in return for BTT tokens. The token will be first used for allocation of upstream bandwidth and will later be used for capabilities including purchasing content, tipping live streaming performers, and crowdfunding the creation of new works.
