Each year there are a number of blockchain summits, conferences, and expos that take place around the world, but the Malta Blockchain Summit (MBS) is set to be the best of them all. On November 1st the entire blockchain industry will flock to Malta for this groundbreaking blockchain summit on the self-proclaimed “Blockchain Island.” While we most likely won’t see any bust-ups between Roger Ver and Jimmy Song like we saw on the blockchain cruise, this summit will provide a fountain of knowledge from leading industry experts.
A Robot Speaker?
You read that correctly, the MBS is proud to have Sofia Bot – an AI project from Hanson Labs – on the speakers list for a fireside chat. Sofia is the first AI to be recognized as a citizen of the world – Saudi Arabia granted her citizenship late in 2017 – and while she may not be a 100% true AI, she will certainly turn heads at the event.
The Biggest Names in Blockchain
Some of the biggest names in the industry will be speaking at the MBS, including John McAfee, Jon Matonis, Felix Petersen, Max Krupyshev, and Matthias Klees. In addition to this, the team behind Malta’s new blockchain and crypto-friendly laws will be there, including Joseph Muscat, Silvio Schembri, and Joseph Cuschieri. There will also be a whole host of investors, advisors, and investment firms around as well looking to scout new projects that they can sink their teeth into – so expect the cash to flow.

In addition to hordes of top speakers from the blockchain industry, there will also be a chance for companies to exhibit new products, features, and platforms. Companies such as Bitfury, Vodafone, Deloitte, and Sabi Global all have stands – did we forget to mention that you can find us there too?
Crypto Fraud Set to be a Hot Topic
When a country decides to become a supposed “Blockchain Island,” it undoubtedly will attract some attention from the wrong crowd. Unfortunately, Malta recently got its first scam cryptocurrency and the Maltese regulators have yet to act on this news. This likely won’t be the only scam discussed at the MBS, as crypto fraud is a vital topic that people need to understand in order to be able to remove it from this flourishing technology field.
Winklevoss Twins to Make an Appearance
The crypto twins – Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss – will be making a guest appearance at the MBS. The twins were the first Bitcoin billionaires after investing heavily in it during the early days. The Winklevoss twins have made huge waves in the crypto world, launching a heavily regulated and patented crypto exchange as well as their own stablecoin – the Gemini Dollar.
