Azuki NFT creator Chiru Labs has announced new 20,000 collectibles as an expansion of the existing collection with 10,000 NFTs. Known as Azuki Elementals, the collection continues with the project’s anime-style profile pictures (PFPs). Chiru Labs has already gifted each previous Azuki holder with an Elemental collectible leaving 10,000 NFTs available for purchase.
Price Drops Every Five Minutes
According to Chiru Labs, the sale of the new NFTs will start today, June 27 at a price of around $3,800 or 2 ETH. The sale will employ a Dutch auction style with the price reducing after every five minutes until all the digital artworks find a new owner. However, the last sale price will be the standard price and the project will return extra funds paid above the base price.
The Azuki Elementals sale opens on Tuesday, June 27 at 9:00 AM PT. ⁰Elementals will be available to reveal immediately after sale ends.

Existing Azuki collectors will be given the first chance to purchase Elemental collectibles 20 minutes before the sale opens up to the public. Beanz NFT holders will also be given the option to purchase the collectibles after Azuki collectors with each group having a 10-minute time frame to do so. Some collectors have lamented the small window per level saying it may lead to a spike in gas fees on the Ethereum blockchain.
10 minutes to mint sounds crazy, I hope gas fees don’t become a rip off.

Elementals Revolve Around Nature
As is common with the Azuki NFT project, the new collectibles will feature varying rarities. Although Chiru Labs is yet to reveal the contents of the NFTs, they’ll likely revolve around the four elements of nature, earth, water, lightning and fire.
The new Azuki collection comes eight months after the project launched Physical Backed Token (PBT) to link physical with virtual goods.
With some Azuki NFTs selling for about 20 ETH, it’s yet to be seen whether collectors will consider the 2 ETH for the Elementals to be a bargain or they’ll quote a lower price.
