  • Hamster Kombat has announced that it plans to create NFTs
  • The NFTs will be part of in-game assets
  • The game’s roadmap also includes a web3 game

Hamster Kombat recently revealed that it plans to explore the NFT space by creating a web3 game and offering collectibles as in-game assets. The Telegram clicker game’s creators revealed that the game’s 2025 roadmap revolves around venturing deeper into the web3 world and keeping players engaged after the just concluded season 1 phase. Its recent airdrop and listing, however, were criticized by players raising questions about whether most players will stick around for season two and the rest of the roadmap.

An Advertisement Network is in the Works

Apart from integrating NFTs into its ecosystem, it also wants to connect to payment networks. The Hamster Kombat team is confident that it’s capable of creating web3 products, adding that it has the backing of players.

The game attracted over 300 million players during season one, with less than half of them, 43%, qualifying to receive Hamster tokens, HMSTR. The team disclosed that 11.25% of tokens distributed to users will be locked for 10 months starting September 26.

According to the Hamster Kombat creators, the next phase will involve merging web2 and web3 worlds to enhance the game’s engagement. Other parts of its roadmap include creating an advertisement network whose revenue will be used to buy back HMSTR tokens from the secondary market and use the tokens to reward players.

Hamster Kombat Players Express Disappointment

HMSTR’s listing on leading exchanges on September 26 didn’t meet the expectations of most players who lamented that the listing price was too low leaving them with small payouts. Some said that they’ve resigned as virtual CEO.

Others described the rewards as “dust” considering they’ve been tapping their phone screens for months. The token’s price has dropped almost 50% from its high of $0.01350 to 0.00685, less than 24 hours after listing on the Bybit exchange, as of the time of writing.

With the Hamster Kombat community lamenting low payout, it’s to be seen whether the community will stick around to see the game’s NFT and web3 plans.
